Instituting Your Alter For Ndi Mmiri (Mariners)

Those who are born on Orie day are regarded as people having their origin from the water, hence water element. Although Nwammiri (someone from the water) can be born on any day, and almost everyone have connection to water. • A White Bowl
• A White Cloth
• Sweet things like fanta, sweets, biscuits, etc.
• A Cube of Sugar
• A Bell
• Candles of White and Blue colors.
• Incense
• A White Plate
• A Table or any structure to serve as your alter.
• Other spiritual sacramentals.

Procedure

• Cleanse the place you want to situate your alter with alligator pepper to make it spiritually clean.
• Put the clean water in the white bowl.
• Spread the white cloth on the table or the structure you wish to use as your alter.
• Keep the white bowl of water at the center of the alter.
• Surround the white bowl containing the water with the fanta, sweets, biscuits, etc.
• Drop the cube of sugar inside the water in the bowl.
• Keep your bell beside it.
• Keep your candles and incense and decorate the alter the way you want.
• Ensure that your alter is positioned towards West so that while praying in the alter you will always face West.
• Keep all your sacramentals in the white plate where you will always offer kola to the spirits.

While decorating your alter, it is very important to know that the colors you should always use is white and blue. And that is the colors of candles you should always burn while praying in your alter. The color of water energy is white and blue. Note that you should always cleanse yourself before praying at the alter. Also note that you should avoid any sexual display around your alter.
